Semarang, October 20, 2025 – The Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro (HI FISIP Undip) has carried out a community service activity entitled “Assistance in Increasing Awareness of Cybercrime as Part of SDGs 4 and SDGs 16 for Children in Jabungan Village.” This activity was chaired by Dr. Drs. Reni Windiani, M.S., and consisted of Ika Riswanti Putranti, A.Md.Ak., S.H., M.H., Ph.D., Anjani Tri Fatharini, S.IP., M.A., Muhammad Arief Zuliyan, S.IP., LL. M., and Mr. Muhammad Faiq Adi Pratomo, S.IP., M.Sc., are HI FISIP Undip Community Service Team members. This activity is a concrete implementation of the role of higher education institutions in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through this activity, HI FISIP Undip contributes to realizing the spirit of “Undip with Dignity and Undip with Benefit” by providing contributions that are not only focused on academic development but also positively impact society.

This community service activity was held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at SDN Jabungan Elementary School, Semarang. Sixth-grade students were the leading target group for this activity, which provided them with material on cybercrime in a fun and creative way. This activity aimed to improve children’s understanding of digital security and awareness of cybercrime. The material was also delivered in an interactive format, followed by a question-and-answer session that encouraged active participation from the students as the target audience. To optimize the delivery of the material, the community service team also distributed educational pocket books on cybersecurity for elementary school children, which are expected to serve as practical guides for children in using technology safely and wisely.
This activity is not only a tangible contribution to implementing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), but also has strong relevance to the concentration of HI FISIP Undip, namely cooperation in handling transnational crimes. This concentration focuses on understanding various forms of crime that cross national borders and involve cross-regional actors, both individuals and groups that can threaten security, stability, and the international order. Through this understanding, cybercrime can be seen as an increasingly prominent issue due to its territorially boundless nature, making individuals in various countries vulnerable to digital attacks, data misuse, and cyber-based economic crimes.
Through this approach, the Undip FISIP HI Community Service Team strives not only to understand the political and security dimensions of transnational crime but also to spread awareness of the importance of digital literacy at the community level. By instilling an understanding of cybercrime from an early age, efforts to build a digitally savvy society capable of countering the threat of cybercrime can be carried out more optimally. It is hoped that this activity can be a sustainable step for Undip HI academics in realizing a society with awareness and responsibility in using technology wisely and safely.
