On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the first IRUDLIve event was held with Siva Anggita Maharani who is currently a Senior Manager at Global Health Strategies. The main title of this activity was \u201cCareer Tips in International Organizations\u201d with the aim of sharing alumni experiences regarding career prospects for IR alumni working in international organizations.<\/p>\n
Global Health Strategies is an international organization engaged in advocacy, strategic communication, and global health policy with a main focus on pandemic preparedness, vaccination, and maternal and child health. Although it is in the health sector, IR graduates can pursue a career in this organization because IR itself is a multidisciplinary field that is very flexible, so that graduates can choose the desired career according to their interests.<\/p>\n
This speaker has an interest in health issues and has worked at UNDP, USAID, World Food Programs, and is currently at World Health Strategies. During her time as an IR student, she has learned a lot related to international organizations, so that if she wants to have a career in this field, she only needs to develop it according to the intended organization and interests. In addition, courses related to public policy are very helpful in determining work programs because all work programs are aimed at the public interest. Basic skills that can be an asset are the ability to read and understand the content of reading, English language skills, various knowledge with others, manage time, and build networks.\u00a0 The speaker emphasized that \u201cthe key to knowing more people and learning more things is to get you somewhere\u201d.<\/p>\n
