I Gede Gohan Adiputra, an International Relations student at Universitas Diponegoro class of 2022, won 2nd place in the KYU I Men Paired Embu in a national championship called the National Championship for Shorinji Kempo Students, Universitas Negeri Jakarta in 2022.

The National Championship for Shorinji Kempo Students, Universitas Negeri Jakarta in 2022 was held by the Sports Club of Achievement Shorinji Kempo, Universitas Negeri Jakarta on September 29 – October 2, 2022, at Gor Cempaka Putih, Cempaka Putih districts, Central Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta Province. This competition was attended by 175 participants from 25 university contingents from all over Indonesia. As a form of appreciation, Gohan received a Silver Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation from the organizers.

Gohan admitted that he was very enthusiastic when participating in this championship because this championship was the first student championship he participated in when he officially became a student at UNDIP. Besides Gohan, another team from Universitas Diponegoro also won 5 Silver Medals and was fifth in the overall winner.

“I am very proud and happy because the results of hard work for approximately 1 month have paid off completely with maximum results in this championship,” Gohan said when sharing his experience of participating in the competition with the management team of the Department of IR. Gohan also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported him, including the big family of the Department of International Relations, Universitas Diponegoro.

Gohan also admitted that he was proud and happy to be able to bring UNDIP to the spotlight at the national level competition. Of course, this achievement cannot be separated from the help, support, and prayers from all parties, especially the big family of the Department of International Relations, Universitas Diponegoro.

“We as students certainly have the right to excel which will improve a good image for the campus and provide positive energy for us to continue to grow. It’s never too late to try, it’s never too late to start, therefore to all of you, let’s achieve together to make UNDIP proud with our talents and potential, both in academic and non-academic fields. Don’t expect more before trying more”, said Gohan when he was asked by the Department’s management team regarding what message he wanted to convey to his friends to be motivated in participating in the competition.
