The Department of International Relations at Diponegoro University through the criminology course carries out Field Work Lecture (KKL) at the Women’s Penitentiary Class II-A of Semarang (Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Perempuan Kelas II-A Semarang/LPP Semarang). A total of 120 students accompanied by 3 (three) lecturers carried out KKL activities at LPP Semarang on Friday (27/10). LPP Semarang is a special correctional institution that collects, treats, and fosters adult women in Semarang. The selection of LPP Semarang as the location of the KKL is due to the relevance of criminology courses with LPP Semarang, which is related to the crime aspect.

The KKL activity was filled with discussion sessions between students and the management of LPP Semarang and visited the inmates’ coaching activities. As a correctional institution, LPP Semarang provides some coaching activities to its inmates, including sewing, making bread and cakes, and processing coffee. The results of those coaching activities can be enjoyed by visitors to LPP Semarang at an affordable price.

After the KKL activity took place, students wrote a reflection essay on the KKL activities that had been carried out. Through these KKL activities, students are expected to be able to find the relevance between the knowledge gained in class and direct practice encountered in the field.
